The Led luminaire “Lan” has been designed by the architects Marta Gabàs, Anna Ribas and Carles Casamor, for a modern & high-efficiency project in Barcelona.

The Avenida Diagonal Barcelona is a major arterial road in Barcelona. Across the entire city center the renewed avenue intend to reflect sustainability, efficiency and dynamism.

Salvi’s challenge has been to provide a solution to outdoor lighting with different functionalities and heights, seeking excellence in lighting, user comfort and high energy efficiency. The project includes a total of 136 lanterns LAN 6.3 m high and 2 m wide, including a light beacon on the side of the shaft to illuminate the bike path and 94 lanterns LAN 9.3 m and 6.3 m high and 3 m wide equipped with optical UP LED high efficiency, modular, replaceable with a leakproof IP66 rating and adjustable power ranging from 39W, 60W and 94W.

The tubular section and shape of this luminaire creates a new and different space in this avenue, allowing it to be clear and open. Given the number of actors and elements (vehicles , vegetation , buildings, pedestrians, cyclists , kiosks … ) that act on this busy avenue it was unthinkable to offer a new and very different picture of the Diagonal boulevard. In addition to the night illumination, the white LED light creates a cozy atmosphere and wide vision, not only to drivers but to pedestrians , facades and businesses . Its white light , generates a new nocturnal image of the city. It also includes the option to add a light spot on the side of the shaft to get a nice ambient light to bike lanes or less busy areas.

The lighting system features remote management, making it possible to reduce levels during periods of low occupancy.
