One of the objectives of the lighting manufacturer Salvi lighting, for more than fifteen years, has been its growth beyond the European Union. Its first steps were in the Middle East, Latin America and Asia, currently reaching more than 30 countries.

For the past five years, Salvi Lighting has focused its efforts on developing its business projects in Africa, resulting in very interesting opportunities.

One of the most significant projects currently consists of the lighting of 975 km and the installation of 240 km of medium voltage lines in Rwanda, to improve communication and security between the various populations and the capital.
With this type of project, Salvi Lighting participates in cooperation and sustainable progress through a path that respects the environment and the social environment, together with the local team and concretely addressing the primary needs.
In these projects, the traffic on the roads and access roads between different towns is very heterogeneous, consisting of cars, trucks, motorbikes, but also cyclists and pedestrians.

This project, developed by the Salvi Ruandés team with the technological supervision and experience of Salvi Barcelona, will not only provide lighting, but will also solve a primary social need for safety and urban comfort. With the activation of an efficient and sustainable lighting service, the level of comfort and safety for vehicles and citizens will be actively increased.

Salvi Rwanda is already a reality, having acquired a 20,000 m² plot of land in the country's capital Kigali, where a first production plant of 1000 m² is being set up.

This initiative provides jobs for dozens of people and facilitates the transfer of their technological, industrial and commercial know-how to the new team.
The commercial team in the area is already working with other neighbouring countries to create new opportunities and projects that favour the sustainable development of the area.

Salvi lighting is characterised by its public lighting products with the latest technology on the market, being able to offer up to 99.4% reliability of its products. The company has its own R&D department, in which lighting solutions are developed following a specific and optimised process, always applying the same maxims: homogeneous lighting, energy efficiency, reduction of CO₂ pollution... always considering the particularities of each client.

Thanks to advances in technology, Smart Cities; sustainable, connected and optimised cities are not only an unstoppable global phenomenon, they are also the only solution to contain and reduce the alarming environmental and socio-economic repercussions that urbanisation is causing on our planet. Countries like Rwanda, together with Salvi Lighting and its Smart system for the management of smart cities, Smartec®, are committed to this model.

Javier Elizalde, CEO of the company, states:

"Africa is a very attractive market, which, like all markets, needs to be understood in detail through a local vision.

One of Salvi's advantages is its ability to offer a comprehensive service with high added value, with customised solutions tailored to the needs of each country. Javier Elizalde is already thinking about opening other production centres in other West African countries in the near future.
